Make a music video with me and support artists!

Hi, hello, it's me. So here's a sentence I didn't expect to write: a nonprofit picked my song!! 2Kind, whose entire deal is getting real jobs, funding, and mentorship to people trying to build careers in film and the arts, chose "Out of My Mouth" for their next cinematic music video. They heard my weird little song and went, "YASS, that one!"

And here's the part that made me say yes back: this was never really about me. The whole point of the video is 2Kind's workforce development initiative. It puts filmmakers, cinematographers, and artists in Los Angeles to work. Paid. On a real set. None of this unpaid internship stuff!! We're shooting under the mentorship of Joseph V. Cicio (Black Swan, Iron Man), a legendary camera operator and DP, which means the next generation of cinematographers and producers gets to learn from someone who's actually done it. My song is just the excuse to get all these people in a room and pay them properly. My costar in this film is Norman King IV, you may have seen his show Meet the Makers, highly suggest supporting that too! Which brings me to you. I've never been great at asking for things (ask anyone except for all of the people I've asked for things). But this one's easy, because you're not funding my ego. You'd be becoming a patron of the arts. And then you can tell your friends that you're a patron of the arts. Boom! Instant class! Where we are: We've already raised over $5,000 (thank you, from the depths of my soul and beyond). $30,000 gets us greenlit. The film gets made. $75,000 fully funds it: post-production, marketing, and getting it into festivals and screenings, so all that work actually gets seen. Every dollar runs through 2Kind's tax-deductible micro-grant system, so it's a real write-off, not a "trust me."

That's the whole spiel. Help us pay some brilliant LA artists to make something beautiful out of a song I wrote. Become a patron. Be Renaissance AF about it. xx, Madeline
